Das Projekt bildet die Materialkette von der Zementproduktion über den Bau bis hin zum Abriss und zur Renovierung ab. Durch die Quantifizierung von Materialflüssen und CO₂-Emissionen macht die Publikation Prozesse sichtbar, die normalerweise im Verborgenen bleiben. Durch die Reduktion auf Fakten und die räumliche Visualisierung wird Beton nicht mehr als neutraler Baustoff, sondern als endliche, umweltbelastende Ressource dargestellt.
A visual and analytical publication on concrete as the most widely used construction material in Switzerland.

The project maps the material chain from cement production to construction, demolition, and renovation. By quantifying material flows and CO₂ emissions, the publication exposes processes that usually remain invisible. Through factual reduction and spatial visualization, concrete is reframed as a finite, environmentally charged resource rather than a neutral building standard.

The book is a humorous homage to British everyday culture—inspired by the keen powers of observation and subtle wit of photographer Martin Parr. Combining a documentary perspective with ironic exaggeration, the project examines the peculiarities of British identity: from crowded beach vacations in Blackpool to tea ceremonies in the rain.

2024   Für meine gestalterische Auseinandersetzung mit Sternstunden der Menschheit von Stefan Zweig habe ich drei der Erzählungen ausgewählt und in ein neues typografisches Konzept überführt. Der Originaltext bleibt erhalten, wird jedoch durch eine Marginalspalte ergänzt, die zusätzliche Informationen vermittelt: historische Hintergründe, erklärende Kontexte und sachliche Erläuterungen. Diese zweite Ebene unterstützt das inhaltliche Verständnis und erweitert die literarischen Miniaturen um eine dokumentarische Perspektive.

Typografisch basiert das Konzept auf der Kombination zweier Schriftarten: Adobe Garamond und Syntax Next. Die Garamond, mit ihrer klassischen, ruhigen Anmutung, bildet die erzählerische Hauptstimme. Die Syntax Next – präzise, sachlich, nahezu technisch – bespielt die Marginalie und unterstreicht deren analytischen Charakter. Die Gegenüberstellung beider Schriften betont die Trennung der Ebenen, ohne die gestalterische Harmonie zu verlieren.For my creative exploration of Stefan Zweig's Sternstunden der Menschheit (Moments of Humanity), I selected three of the stories and transformed them into a new typographic concept. The original text remains unchanged, but is supplemented by a margin column that provides additional information: historical background, explanatory contexts, and factual explanations. This second level supports the understanding of the content and expands the literary miniatures with a documentary perspective.

Typographically, the concept is based on the combination of two fonts: Adobe Garamond and Syntax Next. Garamond, with its classic, calm appearance, forms the main narrative voice. Syntax Next—precise, factual, almost technical—is used in the marginalia and underscores its analytical character. The juxtaposition of the two fonts emphasizes the separation of the levels without losing the design harmony.
